Boston.com, by way of Lucianne.com, is reporting on an AP story about
the continuing accelerated pace of handgun permits in Connecticut. First Quar-
ter applications are some 2,139 souls, running roughly 50% of last year’s entire
total. So far, no reports of bloodbaths in the streets can be found at the
Hartford Courant. The AP story also cites Meriden Detective Sgt. Robert
Hettrick as a source estimating that permits have doubled, or even tripled,
in Meriden, Connecticut since 9-11.
