Robber Killed

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (AP) – A would-be robber was shot and killed by a
customer carrying a concealed handgun Saturday during a hold-up at a
Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control store.

Police said Neshawn N. Claiborne, 18, from Suffolk, entered the store
about 6 p.m., showed his weapon and said he wanted to commit a
robbery. A customer who has a valid concealed-weapon permit then
pulled out his own gun and shot the robber.

Police are withholding the name of the man who shot Claiborne.

The case will be sent to the Commonwealth’s Attorney to determine if
any charges should be filed.
