Forget politics for just a second, well, half a second.
I wanted to tell you ladies and supportive gents about what I did yesterday.
My boyfriend got me this wonderful little rifle. It’s a CAR15. Now banned for manufacture (but legal to own—for now), this little thing is perfect for a gal. AR15′s are heavy! This one is short. And boy is it fun to shoot.
So I went to the range, and I emptied magazine after magazine right into my target. Usually I just can’t wait to get to the pistol range, because I find the weight of a rifle tiring. With this I stood up, kneeled, boom boom boom. What a great time, something so new and so fun. The guys at the range were pretty impressed.
The banned features about this rifle made it great for a lady. It had a pistol grip, a short barrel (that means light and easy to hold in a standing position). It’s not terribly accurate because of the barrel. It never occurred to me to damage anything more than my paper at 50 yards.
Another thing about yesterday. Something the anti-gun public doesn’t know. There were lots of fathers their with their kids, boys and girls, diligently instructing their children on safety and skill. Spending quality time with them. These were happy kids. Happier than I saw at the mall or movies. And these kids were learning the skill and respect of shooting.
I think if more people who were anti-gun, yet never fired one in their life, had a good time like I did with my “Assualt Weapon with high capacity magazines”, they’d look at things differently. I think if they saw these Dads with their kids, saw how the kids were learning discipline and skill….and very healthy respect for weapons, they might just ponder their position. And finally, if there were more dads like the ones who brought their daughters yesterday, there would be more safe, armed, educated women entering into society.
Thought I would share.
Happy Holidays, my friends!
