OFFICER FACES 3 MORE CHARGES

A Toronto cop charged with threatening an exotic dancer with his gun and
sexual assault faces further charges under the Police Act.

Const. Joseph Green faces three counts of discreditable conduct under
the Police Services Act, said Toronto Police spokesman Mark Pugash
yesterday.

A hearing has been scheduled for Nov. 15.

A representative for Green’s lawyer appeared briefly in Old City Hall
court yesterday.

Green is scheduled to reappear Nov. 21 to set a trial date.

The accusations stem from an incident at the For Your Eyes Only strip
club on Oct. 8, 2004.

A uniformed officer allegedly grabbed a woman’s breasts without her
consent, says a notice of Police Services Act hearing. When she walked
away, the officer allegedly drew his handgun and pointed it at her.

The province’s Special Investigation Unit launched a probe of the
incident and laid criminal charges in August.

Green, of 14 Division, has been charged with sexual assault, pointing a
firearm without lawful excuse and use of a firearm in a careless manner.

He is currently on restricted desk duty and is not allowed to carry a
gun, Pugash said.
