I just watched a Spike Lee movie on tape. Spike Lee, you might recall, doesn’t care much for Charlton Heston. He urged someone to assasinate Mr. Heston with a .44 caliber revolver like the killer in his movie “Summer of Sam”. Now I’m sure that Spike really wanted to stir up interest in his 3rd rate movie when he said that, but I recall 1977 and the Son of Sam killings.

Sam could have never caused so much fear in Texas. Unlike the disarmed and helpless New Yawkers, we were armed and able to protect ourselves. If “Sam” had come down to Houston or Dallas…he might have been the one panicked!
