S&W News of the weird

March 1st, 2012

Greetings:

Browsing through “More News of the Weird”, by Shepherd, Kohut & Sweet,
1990, Penguin Books, New York, I found this item on p. 90, and had a good
chuckle from it.

“The Smith and Wesson Company opened a golf driving range for its
employees in Springfield, Massachusetts, on October 18, 1984, but was
forced to close it a week later after flocks of sea gulls began bombarding
company executives, motorists, and neighbors with hundreds of golf balls
they would pick up, fly up into the air with, and drop.”
