THE TRUTH ABOUT OUR “RIGHT TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS”
THE TRUTH ABOUT OUR “RIGHT TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS”

Many of the politicians and cities that are agitating for new gun control laws are wholehearted proponents of lawsuits to annihilate the firearms industry in America. At the same time, it is now reported, the Clinton Administration’s enforcement of federal firearms laws against armed violent criminals is down by 44% since 1992.
Do not be fooled. Gun control laws impact only the law abiding. The United States Supreme Court has ruled that arresting a convicted felon for not registering an illegally owned firearm is a violation of his constitutional rights. Why? — because it would violate his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. Applying the same judicially-manufactured principles, a lower federal court decided recently that a criminal could not be forced to apply for a gun permit, and could not be prosecuted for not having one. Therefore, effectively, gun control laws can apply only in respect of the law-abiding citizen.
During the Los Angeles riots, in 1992, our fellow Korean-Americans showed the entire nation the importance of exercising our uniquely American constitutional right to “keep & bear” firearms with the successful defense of their businesses and homes.
If the Jewish community in Crown Heights, Brooklyn had been similarly protectively armed, the week-long campaign directed against them several years later, that resulted in the murder of rabbinical student Yankle Rosenbaum and a passing motorist by the rioting street mob, almost certainly would not have taken place.
Gun control is solely about making guns illegal in the hands of law abiding citizens. More laws mean more government control. Gun control is about the Hillary Clinton’s, the Carolyn McCarthy’s, the Sara Brady’s, the Charles Schumer’s, the Bill Bradley’s and the Al Gore’s depriving each of us of our constitutional rights, individual freedoms and, perhaps, even our very lives.
