This is a hoot. Generally, guns with rifled bores are illegal in Mexico.
Everyone but the pollos have guns and the Mexican cops, being corrupt, and
the Judicial Federales, being corrupt, most of the aforesaid being in the
employ of the cartels, do not enforce these laws. (unless you’re a gringo
coming south and they find a single round of ammo, then you are toast.) I
would suggest we tell the Mexicans the same thing they told us when we asked
them to curb the drug supply. They said: “Reduce the demand within your
country, that is the problem.” I think that will work for their problem with
guns, eh?
