Fatal shooting will be referred to grand jury By MIKE GLENN

A fatal shooting at a southwest Houston home early this morning has been
referred to the Harris County grand jury without recommendation for
charges, police said.

The man who fired the gun said the victim and another man followed him
to his house in the 12200 block of Ormandy about 2:30 a.m. and tried to
rob him.

The homeowner told HPD homicide investigators that the other man pulled
a knife and tried to rob him on his back patio.

He suffered a cut to his right hand in what police said was a defensive
wound. However, police said the homeowner was able to grab a pistol and
shot the man several times.

The robber was dead at the scene and the other man fled. Police said
they have no description of him.
