SPOKANE
Police said the Prosecutor’s Office also ruled that Carl E. Heerwagen,
40, was justified in killing Clem L. Roberts, 45, with a single bullet
to the chest when Roberts broke into his room at the Saranac Apartments,
251/2 W. Main, on June 12.
Heerwagen was on the phone with a 911 operator, reporting that Roberts
had been chasing him, when the operator heard Roberts kick open
Heerwagen’s door.
