they WILL choose other TOOLS. There will always be criminals as long as there are laws that only punish the law abiding citizens. Gun Control is good for crime because it disarms crime’s victims!

ILLEGAL GUN STUNS POLICE SAFETY FEARS AS SEIZURES GROW

AN INCREASING number of criminals are carrying stun guns, and Toronto
Police fear the trend is a concern for officers and the public.

In the last week, police have seized the illegal devices during three
separate busts.

“It’s a trend that we’re seeing, especially among drug dealers,” Det.
Howie Page, of 14 Division’s vice squad, said yesterday. “They’re
starting to arm themselves with these stun guns and it’s scary.”

In the most recent seizure, two cops on bike patrol spotted two men
allegedly doing drugs in a smoke-filled car near Dundas St. W. and
Lansdowne Ave. Tuesday night.

Police said a search of the vehicle yielded an estimated $15,000 worth
of marijuana, powder and crack cocaine, Ecstasy, drug debt lists, scales
and baggies, $3,000 cash, stolen computer equipment, a 9-mm Luger
stashed under the seat, and a stun gun hidden in a console.

The arrests went off without a hitch, but Page said the situation could
have been deadly for the officers.

“Had there been any sort of a confrontation, a suspect could easily have
grabbed the stun gun and used it on an officer, leaving him immobilized
on the ground and unable to protect his weapon,” he said.

The seizure resulted in 18 charges, but it also prompted Page to issue
an “officer safety alert” throughout the force, warning of the potential
danger lurking at any routine traffic stop.

The stun guns are small enough to conceal up a sleeve and can also be
clipped on a belt, looking like a cellphone, Page said. Using only a
nine-volt battery for power, they deliver a whopping 100,000- volt jolt.
