Man Breaks Into Cop’s House, Shot Dead

A 5-year veteran of the Cleveland police force is on administrative
leave, after apparently shooting and fatally wounding a burglar who
tried to break into his apartment on West 100th St., early Friday
morning. Investigators say the suspect had a weapon, got into a tussle
with the officer. The patrolman suffered cuts to hands and chest, and
fired his service pistol at the man, who later died at MetroHealth.
Detectives are now trying to identify the suspect, who’s 6 foot tall,
weighs 190 pounds and is possibly Hispanic.
