Youth Leadership Opportunity Available Now!
Here’s some more sewage from the MMM. They’re paying $10.00/hour to kids who will support their cause. Know any real mean kids to sic on’em? And this “Packard Foundation.” What can I say? Fools and their money. I see boycott potential. Do they sell anything? Any relation to Hewlett Packard or Packard-Bell?
BTW-Wayne LaPierre’s still in the time out chair. You would think he’s their only opposition. I am SO jealous. Anyway, here’s the slop. Again, don’t read on a full stomach.

The Million Mom March Foundation
California Youth Advisory Board
About the Youth-Led Program of The Million Mom March Foundation? The Million Mom March Foundation is the first national grassroots, victim-led organization that addresses the needs of gun trauma victims and survivors. However, young victims of gun trauma have never been organized before, either at the state or national level. The Million Mom March Foundation?s Board of Directors is committed to including young people and training them to become leaders in this field. On April 3, 2000, The Million Mom March Foundation received $1,000,000 from the David and Lucille Packard Foundation to establish a youth-led comprehensive prevention program over the next three years and provide a model for the nation. This is the largest grant ever given to youth in the United States for the prevention of gun violence
Our goal is to create a united voice of young victims of gun trauma and concerned young people who represent the diverse racial, ethnic cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds of California youth. This will be achieved by ensuring significant youth involvement in every Million Mom March Foundation chapter, establishing the Youth Leadership Development department, and changing existing Million Mom March Foundation materials, trainings, and programs to attract youth. This will be done with the collaboration of a 15-member Youth Advisory Board.
To make sure that this is a genuine youth-led effort to address gun trauma in California, the Million Mom March Foundation is creating the California Youth Advisory Board. We have worked since October, 1999, with a task force comprised of young leaders in violence prevention in the state California. As the guiding force during the planning phase of this project, they created a model to include significant youth participation in The Million Mom March Foundation. They developed the selection criteria and responsibilities of the Youth Advisory Board as listed below.
We are now seeking members for the California Youth Advisory Board!
About the California Youth Advisory Board? The California Youth Advisory Board (YAB) will be made up of 15 youth members ages 18-24 who represent the ethnic/racial, religious, socioeconomic, sexual orientation and geographic diversity of California. This age group has a high gun fatality rate, both nationally and in California. Although the YAB will be comprised of young adults, the programs developed during this project will be available to youth of all ages. The majority of the YAB members will be victims and survivors of, or have lost a family member or friend to gun trauma. However, we are also interested in recruiting youth who are concerned and committed to this issue although they may not be victims or have experienced gun trauma themselves.
Qualifications:
Youth candidates must meet the following criteria:

Based on our experience of youth and gun trauma, this can include youth who have had any kind of experience with firearm injuries, whether it be witnessing gun trauma, surviving a gunshot wound, being caught up in a violent situation, or losing a loved one to suicide by a firearm. We are also interested in recruiting youth who are concerned and committed to this issue who may not be victims or survivors themselves.
